Our Goals
GOALS OF THE CENTRE 2010
1. To settle into an environment that caters for all areas for children, staff and parents.
2. To foster each child’s social, emotional, physical, language and intellectual development
by providing a stimulating environment that is developmentally appropriate.
3. To value play as a medium for all aspects of development and learning.
4. To enhance each child’s self esteem by providing an environment where the child is
accepted and respected as an individual, where there is a sense of trust and where the
child can experience success. This will encompass providing an environment that is
non-sexist.
5. To foster self discipline in children where they learn responsibility for their actions and
how to express their feelings in socially acceptable ways.
6. To encourage parent participation by actively involving their suggestions, knowledge and
input into the program.
7. To foster the development of acceptance of the diversity of people and respect for other
people’s rights, feelings and belongings.
8. To provide a nutritionally balanced diet which reflects different cultures and is varied to
allow opportunities for experimentation of different foods.
9. To maintain high standards of hygiene and safety in the centre and teach children about these.
10. To maintain a close relationship with parents and make sure we are catering to their needs
as well as we can. All suggestions are welcome.
These goals underpin our program and we encourage parents to discuss any aspect of them.
